Some new photos of Michelle Obama in shorts has caused some to ponder whether or not they are too short for the First Lady. Read the story and see photos and video here.
The pictures of Michelle Obama wearing the shorts, which are relatively modest in our opinion, were taken as she exited Air Force One on Aug. 16 at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.
The Obama’s were reportedly visiting the Grand Canyon. Sounds like a reasonable place to wear shorts, eh? I personally think she has a very keen sense of fashion, something that’s very refreshing after some of the frumpy First Ladies we’ve seen recently.
But who really thought the shorts were too short? Some feel it is the product of a slow news-month, and that there is really no evidence of any outrage over the shorts at all. One poll, conducted by the Chicago Tribune, found that over 80% responded that they were perfectly appropriate.
Yet the Examiner declared that “some members of the media and the public” are none-too happy about it.
In a particularly witty entry on the topic, Newsweek blogger Kate Dailey highlights some of the absurdities behind how this non-story is even a story. She connects the dots in an attempt to find the actual outrage to no avail.

Wow! Michelle Obama has great legs…that’s the only requirement I can see for wearing short shorts! She looks cool, classy and totally comfortable. Michelle doesn’t need anyone telling her what to wear anywhere!

Her shorts are great..not something I would be able to wear but everyone is different. Michele looks good in anything I have seen her wear. Why do you have to be judging of what others are wearing? Is this not a free country? I don’t think it matters how she dresses as long as it shows respect for her self and she has got it all in my book. They are all just jealous Michelle.
