Angelina Jolie could play Patrizia Reggiani in the “Gucci” movie by director Ridley Scott—a scandalous role indeed. Read more about Angelina Jolie in “Gucci” here.
It was only a matter of time before someone made a film about the murder-for-hire plot against slain fashion mogul Maurizio Gucci. In 1995, the man whose last name is synonymous with high fashion, was shot and killed by a hit man hired by his ex-wife, Patrizia. She was subsequently sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison.
The role seems built for Angelina, who has shown her ability to portray elegant, yet saucy characters. The prime example that comes to mind is her role in Mr. And Mrs. Smith, where she played a sheik assassin, who could also exude elegance. Then there’s her part in Wanted, which speaks for itself.
It’s also a smooth move by Ridley Scott; Jolie has a way of putting butts in movie theatre seats no matter the project. Also the film should have pretty strong international appeal just like the name brand itself. The big question has now become, who will play Maurizio?
Some publications are claiming that Scott is vying for Leonardo DiCaprio for the role. I can’t even fathom a movie with both of them in it. Leo would be a fine choice—he’s proven himself very skilled at playing timeless characters. I must say that I don’t see them coming across as a believable couple though, but if any two actors can pull it off, it’s them. As of yet there has been no confirmation that DiCaprio will be in the movie.
