The search is still on for Morgan Harrington, and now Metallica is offering a reward for the missing fan. Metallica has added $50,000 to the $100,000 reward for the young fan who went missing after attending their concert in an arena at the University of Virginia.
Morgan Harrington was last seen attending the Metallica concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 17, 2009. She and some friends had gone to the concert, but some how they got separated. Morgan went to use the restroom and somehow ended up outside the arena. Per the re-entry rules of the house, she as not allowed back inside.
She called her friends to let them know she would find a way home, and that was the last anyone heard from her.
Police found her purse and her cell phone, with the battery missing, on the ground between the arena and a nearby athletic field.
Morgan was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with the band name “Pantera” across the front, a black mini-skirt with black tights and knee-high black boots. She is described as having blue eyes, blonde hair, and is 5-foot-6 and 120 pounds.
Metallica is taking this very seriously, posting Harrington’s information on their site, along with contact information for anybody who has a tip about her whereabouts. Their site reads,
“We are deeply concerned about the disappearance of 20 year old Virginia Tech student Morgan Dana Harrington, who was last seen while attending our concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA, on Saturday night.”
Metallica frontman James Hetfield has also contacted Harrington’s parents and given an additional $50,000 to the $100,000 reward being offered for information the could lead to Morgan’s return.
Morgan’s parents appeared on the Today show to get the word out about their daughter. They both assume foul play is involved, saying,
“This is every parent’s worst nightmare.”
I truly hope this girl is found safe and sound.
