Rihanna’s Good Morning America and 20/20 interviews are being hotly anticipated. Rihanna’s interviews will be the first time she speaks publicly about being the victim of domestic violence.
Everyone knows the story. A talented new artist who had only been on the scene for a short time is in a highly publicized relationship with another performer. The pop music power couple seemed meant for each other. Then the unbelievable happened.
Now she is set to dish on her side of things this week on Good Morning America and 20/20 in an up close and personal look into what she went through during and after the incident.
The interview with Diane Sawyer is being called Rihanna: Her Story, and will air on Thursday, November 5th and 6th on the show. 20/20 will also carry the interview Friday night on their broadcast.
The timing seems just right for Rihanna, who is also promoting her new record ‘Rated R.’
Here’s a snippet from a magazine interview she gave that really provides insight into what life was like for her in the wake of the incident:
“I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears…That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.”
