Photographer Mario Testino caught some intriguing shots of Portman for the London shoot. In the magazine, she gives some insight into how she approaches projects, and why she’s so disappointed in her work in the Star Wars movies.
So what was it about her performance in the Star Wars films that she disliked so much? She says:
“My acting was not exactly respected in those films [laughs] but those are the moments when you want to prove yourself again. When people think I suck, it helps.”
About always performing to her utmost potential, she says:
“To be successful, you need the desire to be successful. Ambition can be a dirty word, but it’s pretty much more important than anything.”
