Usher’s divorce from Tameka Foster was first reported over the summer. Now it appears Usher’s divorce has been finalized as of last Wednesday.
The relationship that was described as “irretrievably broken” in court documents is now a thing of the past. The pop / R&B superstar is now back on the market ladies!
The marriage lasted only two years, but according to reports they had already been living separately after just one. That news came after Usher revealed that since July 2008 they no longer lived together.
Claiming “there [was] no reasonable hope of reconciliation,” their marriage was officially ended in The Superior Court in Fulton County Georgia last week.
During their brief marriage Tameka gave birth to two children: Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely Raymond. ET Online reports that they have sought joint custody of the children, but it is yet unclear if it was granted.
Is it even worth it for celebs to get married? It has almost become cliché now to report on celebrity divorces. I guess we can give Usher credit because he isn’t a repeat offender like J. Lo or Billy Bob Thornton. Sure, sure, I know what you’re thinking: ‘they have additional pressure on them as celebs, you couldn’t possibly understand how difficult it is to hold a marriage together under those circumstances.’
To that, I say, cry me a freakin’ river!
