In late 2009, Lancôme announced Julia Roberts as their new 2010 Global brand Ambassador. This is her first gig as a beauty company spokesmodel. According to WWD, the President of Lancome International Youcef Nabi said Julia is an ‘emblematic woman of her time and she will embody the brand in the most sublime way’.
“By her remarkable personality and career, Julia Roberts is an emblematic woman of her time,” Youcef Nabi, President of Lancôme International, said in a statement.
“Her exceptional talent, her radiance and her strong commitments perfectly echo Lancôme’s values. We are convinced she will embody the brand in the most sublime way possible.”
Julia will be featured in the Spring 2010 ad campaign. RadarOnline reports that the actress has signed a juicy $20 million deal to head up the new campaign. The website also reports that Roberts and her husband Danny Moder are turning her advertising shoot for the brand into a romantic trip.
“The Pretty Woman just inked a new $20 million deal as the “global ambassadress” for Lancome, and the couple is turning her advertising shoot for the French beauty brand into a romantic week-long trip for two to the City Of Lights.”
The new face of the cosmetics giant and her husband have three children, twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 5, and Henry, 2. The kids will stay at home in Los Angeles with family while the ‘Duplicity’ actress and her hubby enjoy some quality time in Paris, France.
Julia Roberts is the first official spokesmodel for the full brand and joins other big name celebrities who have endorsed Lancome fragrances (or specific products) such as Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway and Juliette Binoche.
